The tech giant Apple AppleInsider has reportedly filed a new patent displaying the hinge design for the smartphone. The patent is related to display technology that can be folded and stretched across the hinge. From the looks of it, the design can be used to build a foldable one IPhone
The title of the patent application is “Electronic Devices with Foldable Expandable Displays”. The figure shown in the patent describes a device that can fold the display at a 90-degree angle. There are many links that are part of the hinge, which means there will be several expression joints if Apple continues with the design.
According to the patent specification: “In some configurations, the hinge structures for the device include gear teeth, belts and / or other motion synchronization structures. Moving members of the hinge structures may include links to bars and opposing curved bearing surfaces. Stop surfaces can prevent excessive rotation of bars and links. Bars and links in hinge structures or other moving members can rotate relative to virtual pivot points outside the hinge structures. ”
While Samsung, Huawei and Motorola have foldable phones, Apple hasn’t released one yet. The reception of Samsung’s first foldable phone, the Galaxy Fold, was initially mixed, with performance malfunctions reported. Samsung is gearing up to address performance issues with its next foldable device soon.
The Cupertino-based tech giant is probably looking at more than just testing it when it comes to water Foldable iPhoneAnd if you have to make the decision to develop it commercially, it can end up with a tool that can be successful at the same time.
