Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Wednesday accused the Yogi Adityanath government’s ‘mission force’ of failing as crime against women is on the rise in Uttar Pradesh.
Chief Minister Adityanath had launched the ‘Mission Shakti’ campaign in October with the aim of ensuring the safety and dignity of women and girls, with strict warnings that those who commit crimes against women should be handcuffed.
Gandhi, who attacked the BJP government, tweeted in Hindi, “When the government’s aim is hypocrisy and false propaganda, the campaigns fail.”
“The BJP government’s mission to cover up crimes against women in UP has failed. A case has been filed against those responsible for the burning of women a month later. The Congress general secretary in charge of the UP is accused.”

She also tagged a media report claiming that a 21-year-old girl was burnt inside her home in Bhadohi, but a month later the case was filed.
The Congress has been attacking the UP government over law and order, alleging that criminal activities were rampant, which was denied by Adityanath’s distribution.
