Jalandhar: Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has said that Canada has reached out to Indian officials to raise their concerns.
Trudeau said Canada will always be there to defend the right to peaceful protest.
“I am relieved if I do not start by identifying news coming out of India about the peasant protest. The situation is relevant and we are all very worried about family and friends.” Attended.
Speaking further on the issue, he said, “I remind you that Canada is always there to protect the right to peaceful protests. We believe in the importance of dialogue and that is why we have reached out to Indian authorities directly through a number of ways to raise our concerns. ”
Earlier, several Canadian MPs and NDP leader Jagmeet Singh had flagged their concerns about the use of force by Punjab farmers while on their way to Delhi. But as the Canadian Prime Minister is now addressing the issue, the matter is effectively internationalized. UK MPs Tanmanjit Singh Dhasei and Preet Kaur Gill have also avoided using force on the farmers of Haryana as there have been desperate efforts to prevent them from reaching Delhi.
