NEW DELHI: Agriculture minister Narendra Singh Tomar on Thursday said the government is in talks with farmers who are open-minded to consider the objections raised about the three agricultural laws. He asserted, however, that the amendment of the laws had not been made hastily after years of planning. Prime Minister Modi believes that farmers should be open-minded and open to understanding of the factors that constitute objections.
“The welfare and agriculture sector of the Modi government has been given high priority. We are committed to safeguarding the interests of farmers, ”Tomar said before holding another round of talks with farmers’ unions. The minister upheld three laws.
