New Delhi: Famous Punjabi writers, angry over the central government’s “bad treatment” of farmers seeking to repeal new agricultural laws, have begun to return their literary titles. Two young writers Yadvinder Singh and Harmanjeet Singh, after Swarajbir Singh, Jaswinder Singh and Mohanjit, have announced the return of their Sahitya Akademi Youth Awards.
Noted singer and actor Harbhajan Mann also refused to accept the award announced by the Punjab government on Thursday. Philanthropist and environmentalist Baba Seva Singh also returned the Padma Shri awarded to him in 2010, showing his solidarity with the agitated farmers.
