Patna: A 42-year-old JDU activist and former panchayat member was shot dead by criminals in Bihar’s Khagaria district, Ramashankar reported 11 days after the murder of Mukhiya’s husband in the same district.
The crime took place around 7 am when Naresh Ram went for a morning walk with others under the same police station on the outskirts of his village Beldour. Two assailants charged Ram on the Beldour-Pansalwa road and pumped three bullets into his body, killing him on the spot. Sikander Kumar, eyewitnesses and teachers rushed to the spot after hearing the gunshots and found the JDU block vice president lying in a pool of blood. He then reported the crime to Beldour police, who sent the body to an autopsy. Khagaria SP Amitesh Kumar has yet to determine the reason behind the murder.
JDU Khagaria district president Sonelal Mehta expressed outrage over Ram’s assassination and demanded immediate arrest of the culprits.
