Jaipur: Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Saturday accused Union Minister Amit Shah and Dharmendra Pradhan of making new efforts to destabilize the Congress government in the state.
In July, Gehlot opened up his past injuries by indirectly targeting former deputy chief minister Sachin Pilot, who sought a change of guards in the state.
Gehlot said Shah and Pradhan, along with BJP MP Syed Jaffar Islam, recently met with some Congress MLAs over tea and tried to convince the Congress government in Rajasthan that they could overthrow the government in five other states.
Don’t blame us for your internal fights: BJP
Describing the alleged incident, Gehlot said, “The meeting lasted an hour. MLAs have said that I am ashamed that Sardar Patel had once taken over the post of Union Home Minister, but now it has been taken over by Shah, who was giving us sweets and namkeen. Dharmendra Pradhan is ‘acting’ to speak to SC and High Court judges to ‘encourage’ legislators. They (Shah) feel proud that they (BJP members) have overthrown five state governments and can bring down the sixth. ”
“Now we hear that the next turning point is Maharashtra,” Gehlot said.
The CM made these allegations while speaking at the inauguration of the Congress office in Sirohi. He asked Congressmen to beware of the BJP, which is conspiring to bring down state governments using money and muscle power.
Responding to a statement by Gehlot alleging that the Shah had conspired to overthrow the Congress government, The hero Opposition Gulab Chand Kataria called it absurd and said that he was telling Gehlot not to blame others for differences within his party. “CM is once again blaming the BJP for the threat from his members,” he said, adding that the party’s deputy, Rajendra Singh Rathod, said the fierce fighting in the Congress could take place at any time.
