New Delhi: Admiral Karambir Singh, chief of the Navy, said on Thursday that the status quo and the Kovid-19 poses new challenges in the northern borders. He said the Navy’s activities were in close coordination and synergy with the Indian Army and the Indian Air Force.
Speaking at a press conference, the Chief Admiral said the Navy has deployed P-8I aircraft at various locations to meet the needs of the Army and the Indian Air Force. “In addition, we have deployed heron surveillance drones on the northern borders,” he said.
As of now, three Chinese warships are in the Indian Ocean. Singh said the Chinese have operated three ships since 2008 to counter anti-piracy.
