Glocal Teen Hero Glocal is a program launched by Nepal in collaboration with local partners in various countries in South Asia. Local partner Pune youth development and activities in India.
Glocal Teen Hero is a platform for teenagers to recognize and honor outstanding teenagers, whose creativity, commitment, experience and strong leadership have helped them succeed in a more challenging environment.
The award recognizes and honors exceptional teenagers whose work is sustainable and who can think out of the box to solve problems and make an impact in society. The primary goal of the Glocal Teen Hero Award is to foster a collaborative community of recipients and strengthen the national recognition of today’s young leaders.
Vivan Kabir won the Wai Y Glocal Teen Hero India 2020 award. He was selected among the top 6 finalists in the competition; Ratneswaran Praveenan (Technopreneur, 17 years, Bangalore); Kanhaiya Varshni (Education Specialist, 19 years, Delhi); Aditi Jain (businessman, 16 years, Delhi); Rohan Kodag (environmentalist, 16 years, Pune); Soumya Tomar (activist, 18 years, Ghaziabad) and Vivan Kabir (young activist, 17 years, Mumbai).
With the goal of launching Glocal Teen Hero across South Asia, Glocal has transferred this opportunity to South Asian teens for their encouragement and development. And, the winner of the Wai Y Glocal Teen Hero India, the second edition of 2020, was announced today amid the 2020 WY Glock Teen Hero India Virtual Award Gala.
Chief Guest Vandana Chavan said that the teenagers are doing an amazing job, which is something our young adult cannot dream of. They are taking on environmental issues, education issues as well as people’s health and safety issues. It should be encouraged and supported ”

Out of a total of 154 applications for Glocal Teen Hero India, they were selected based on their resume, evidence and their achievement essay. The six teenagers also went through a four-day self-efficacy workshop, where they were trained on a variety of topics by keynote speakers in India.
Jurors were created by celebrities to select Teen Hero 2020. He is an environmentalist and Member of Parliament for the Rajya Sabha, Professor Ujwal Kumar Chaudhary, Vice Chancellor, Adamas University Kolkata, Varun Chaudhary, ED, CG Corp Global, Save the Children International Manager Ipsita Das and CYDA Secretary Matthew Matham.
