Former India batsman Mohammad Kaif has said Sunday that in-form all-rounder Hardik Pandya should return to Australia for the upcoming Test series.
Pandya scored 42 * off 22 balls in India’s six-wicket win over Australia in the second T20 at the Sydney Cricket Ground. It gave the visitors a 2-0 win in the three-match series. His innings was filled with two sixes and three boundaries.
Kaif wrote to Twitter, “@HordikPandya7, with an average of 90, has gone out of his way to go for a batsman in white-ball cricket.

In the recently concluded three-match ODI series, Pandya scored 210 and scored 58 in the first two matches. However, the right-handed batter is not on the Indian team for long-term format.
Pandya was a key member of the Mumbai Indians team that won the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 title at the Dubai International Stadium last month. He has played 14 games for the team and hit .281 with a strike rate of 178.98.
Asked if he would remain in the Test series at the post-match press conference, Pandya replied, “It’s a different ball-game. I don’t mind if they ask me to go back to Test matches. I have a call. With the management of the team, I can’t say much about this.”
After the T20I series, India will play four Tests against Australia. India captain Virat Kohli will play just one in four Tests before returning home, as he has been given a BCCI paternity leave. Availability for the Rohit Sharma Test series is also not clear as his fitness will be re-evaluated at the National Cricket Academy on December 11.
The first Test of the series will be held at Adelaide Oval from December 17.
Test Team: Virat Kohli (Captain), Mayank Agarwal, Prithvi Shah, K.L. , Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed. Shami, Umesh Yadav, Navdeep Saini, Kuldeep Yadav, Ravindra Jadeja, R. Ashwin, Mohammad. Siraj.
